
Expo 2020 Dubai, the biggest event after the pandemic, is an ideal platform for Latin American companies. This much anticipated event helps attract investment, trade agreements and promote international cooperation.
During the webinar, Director of International Offices at Dubai Chamber Omar Khan underscored the chamber’s efforts on promoting this huge event in the global sector, engaging with business communities across the Latin America. The chamber will explore new avenues of economic cooperation through the Global Business Forum Latin America 2022, which takes place on the sidelines of Expo 2020 Dubai.
The heads of Dubai Chamber’s offices in Brazil, Panama and Argentina provided an overview on various Latin American countries’ plans and strategies for Expo 2020 Dubai.
The UAE sent two cargo planes carrying 47 metric tonnes of medical supplies to Tunisia. The aid includes respirators, oxygen cylinders and other medical supplies. This is in support of Tunisia’s drive to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.
UAE Ambassador to Tunisia said that the UAE is closely monitoring the health situation in Tunisia. He added that this initiative is the fruit of ongoing communication between His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Kais Saied, President of Tunisia.
Despite of Rached Ghannouchi, ousted Speaker of Tunisia’s parliament, accusing and blaming UAE of supporting the President of Tunisia, the UAE continuously provides support to the country. Demonstrating solidarity in line with the UAE leadership’s vision.
Last July, the UAE also sent 500,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccines to Tunisia.
Nine hundred children, aged 3–17, participate in a Sinopharm immune bridge study. This will see the effectiveness of Sinopharm vaccine to young people.
Department of Health Abu Dhabi said the study followed the vaccine’s effectiveness in reducing the infection rate and severity of symptoms among target groups.
“I would like to thank everyone who took the initiative to register and participate in this study to support the country’s efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic,” Dr Nawal Al Kaabi, principal investigator for Phase III Sinopharm trials in the UAE and chief medical officer at the capital’s Sheikh Khalifa Medical City.
“This reflects the public’s confidence and trust in the UAE’s long-term recovery plan and in the competence of the healthcare sector of the country.”

The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) and the Ministry of Health and Prevention have have launched services to help doctors living in the UAE to obtain golden visas.
The services will help in granting doctors and their families 10-year residency visas, a long-term residency initiative launched by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai.
Major General Suhail Saeed Al Khaili, Acting Director-General of the ICA, stated that offering the Golden Residency to all UAE-based doctors and their families is an expression of good citizenship and appreciation for the efforts of the UAE’s ‘First Line of Defence’, who effectively contributed to the driving the country’s efforts to contain the COVID-19 pandemic and ensure public safety.

The UAE has pledged US$110 million of humanitarian aid to the Yemeni island of Socotra from 2015 to 2021. This help authorities to improve the lives and livelihood of the Soqotri people.
The aid covers the areas of social and health services, education sectors to construction and transport.

In Health Sector, the UAE provided medical equipment and ambulances, establishing a fully equipped emergency facility and two surgery rooms, and donating 13 beds and an ICU unit.
In Energey sector, the UAE established four power plants and installed power generators in remote villages in Socotra.
When it comes to Education sector, the UAE gave university scholarships to 80 local students to study in Egypt, as well as 40 to UAE University.

The UAE pledge US$100 million to the Global Partnership for Education (GDP). This will support the strategic plan for educational programmes in developing countries over the next five years.
GDP was established in 2003 and works in partnership with donors, governments in developing countries, international organisations, the private sector, teacher associations and civil society institutions.
The announcement was made today during the GPE Replenishment Summit in London, organised by the United Kingdom and Kenya and the GPE, which was attended by Reem Al Hashimy, UAE Minister of State for International Co-operation.

The United Arab Emirate sent an aid plane carrying 80,000 COVID-19 vaccines to Mauritania to help the country curb the spread of Covid-19 virus.
This aim to provide greater protection for the vulnerable, the elderly, and those suffering from chronic diseases.
UAE Ambassador to Mauritania Hamad Ghanem Al Mehairi stressed the strength of bilateral relations between UAE and Mauritania. The UAE is always present in supporting Mauritania with its humanitarian and development initiatives.
These vaccines will contribute to strengthening preventive and precautionary measures among Mauritanian people.
To date, the UAE has sent more than 2,200 tonnes of medical supplies to more than 136 countries.

UAE to grant golden visas to residents doctors in the country in recognition of their efforts and sacrifices, and being the frontline heroes. This is under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
The Golden Residency Visa will grant doctors and their families a 10-year residency, enhancing their job and living stability in the country.
This initiative promotes a motivational work environment and high-quality living standards by attracting and retaining the top talents in the medical field, and providing opportunities for medical staff to work and reside in the UAE.
All doctors licensed by the UAE health regulatory bodies can apply for the golden visa between July 2021 to September 2022 through the website (smartservices.ica.gov.ae).

“100 Million Meals” campaign provided an equivalent of 30 million meals to low-income families and underprivileged as the distribution of food parcels has been completed in Egypt.
Egypt’s food aid distribution is part of the 100 Million Meals campaign’s massive food aid operations that aims to reach 30 countries in four continents. Other distribution is still underway in several countries across the world.
This happens in partnership with the Food Banking Regional Network, 928 local humanitarian organisations and Egypt Food Bank, around 504,000 beneficiaries across Egypt received parcels of easy-to-store food items including flour, sugar, rice and cooking oil to sustain them for one month.
